Previewing The Blacklist Winter Premiere: The Director Part 1

The countdown has been in effect for a while now, and we can at least say we are less than a month away from the next installment of The Blacklist. Getting the good news from The Blacklist Exposed Podcast’s interview with Jon Bokenkamp about the show’s renewal for season 4 was definitely a bonus while we wait! If you haven’t had a chance to listen, make sure to head on over to their site and hit play – you don’t want to miss this interview!

However, we still have a few weeks to kill before we see what exactly happens to Liz and Red, as well as what’s going on in that cabin. By the look of some of the pictures below, things are a smidge awkward up in there. After the episode preview below, reacquaint yourselves with some of Reddington’s best lines, with Susanne Patterson’s list of The Top 10 Reddington Quotes.

Speaking of that brief case… Care to take a guess what was in it? And what about Samar and Ressler – was their night together just that night? Will there be more repercussions from it than just Samar leaving the task force? Luckily, a few other fans had the same questions, and in some recent EW Spoiler Room columns, they got their answers. Kinda.
From EW Spoiler Room:

Did I miss where they showed us what’s inside the briefcase that would exonerate Liz on The Blacklist? — Angie
Nope! They’re keeping that under wraps for the time being. “What is in that case is key,” EP Jon Bokenkamp says. “As Red had said, the ‘care package,’ as we’re calling it, is critical to the mission of freeing Liz. The care package is now in the hands of not our task force, but the FBI, who captured Liz. They’ve now lost one of their key ingredients in the recipe and it’s going to be a bit of a mess getting it back.”

Was Ressler and Samar’s tryst on The Blacklist a one-time thing? — Templeton
It’s not quite as simple as that, according to executive producer Jon Bokenkamp. “That hasn’t quite played out yet,” he says. “That is something that’s going to linger over them and haunt them. The fallout from that will continue to ripple for a while.”

Then, there is this fun little piece of news from TVLine’s Michael Ausiello:

James Spader as Raymond Reddington, The Blacklist Season 3.
