Episode Preview: The Blacklist 3×20 “The Artax Network”

Now that Raymond has re-lived Katarina’s last days while in a post-opium den daze at a haunted resort in Cape May, the next episode of The Blacklist is going to say goodbye to Elizabeth Keen.

From the promo and collection of episode photos below, the funeral for Elizabeth Keen gets underway. That won’t stop the task force from continuing to look for the people responsible for her death.

04/28/2016 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Thursday): After an unexpected loss devastates the FBI task force, they must track down their assailants; a mysterious group whose agents operate using a worldwide satellite network. Meanwhile, Reddington (James Spader) is forced to confront a ghost from his past — one who knows many of Red’s secrets.

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed last week’s unique episode of The Blacklist, I am looking forward to getting back to the recent business at hand. There are only three episodes left this season, and I feel that there are so many things that need to wrap up before that finale is upon us. The “Cape May” episode was a very unique way to give us what Raymond knows about Katarina’s death, but it also presented a whole host of new questions.

Was Red really there that night that Katarina’s tried to fend off attackers? Was he one of the attackers? Did he go to that resort as a way to confess to Katarina in the place he believed that she died in? Maybe, in hopes to relieve some of the guilt he has over Liz’s death? So. Many. Questions.

The next ‘big bad’ we are going to deal with is this Artrax Network. This group will somehow tie into the person(s) behind the attempted abduction and subsequent death of Liz. Looking ahead to the last episode of season 3, one of Red’s own associates will have betrayed him. To me, that just solidifies the idea that Mr. Kaplan helped to fake Liz’s death.

What are your predictions or theories? Do you agree Liz’s death was real or fake? Come join the discussions around the web! Hearing what the fandom thinks is why we do what we do!

The Blacklist 3×02 “The Artrax Network” airs on Thursday, April 28th at 9/8c on NBC.

  1. How can I find out what the piano music featured on tonight’s episode was? They referenced a Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto in C# minor. Is that what it was? It was beautiful!!

    • There is a site called tunefinder I believe where you can search for the music from television episodes, but in a day or too I’m sure our Music contributor will have a post up about it on the Music section of the site. I’ll reply again to this and let you know when its available!

  2. How will the program pan out now that the emotional tension of the relationship between Red and Elizabeth are gone? What is going to fill in that gap?

    • I don’t really think Liz is dead. Whether we will see her again this season or not is the question for me. I still think the last scene of season 3 will be Red seeing her again, whether it’s a quick glimpse, or she full on walks in… who knows. I don’t see how you can really go on without her. She is just as integral to the show as Raymond.
